The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is a fellowship of about 46,500 Baptist churches and another 4,500 mission churches (churches that have not yet established their autonomy as self-governing congregations) scattered across the United States and its territories.

The Kentucky Baptist Convention is a cooperative missions and ministry organization made up of nearly 2,400  Baptist churches in Kentucky. These churches have a total membership of more than 750,000 people. The term “Kentucky Baptist Convention” refers to both the denomination and its annual meeting. Working through 71 local associations and in cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention, Kentucky Baptists share a common bond of basic Biblical beliefs and a commitment to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world.

Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is a fellowship of Baptist churches who share a passion for the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and a commitment to Baptist principles of faith and practice. Through our prayers, leadership, and giving, we support the CBF as they seek to fulfill their vision of being Christ's presence in the world. Our support enables the CBF to be this presence locally and globally.

CBF Kentucky is a fellowship of churches and individuals who are committed to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. CBF Kentucky’s mission is three-fold: 1) to help churches partner with one another and with other organizations that share a similar philosophy and goal; 2) to provide resources for churches and individuals as they do their work; and 3) to encourage involvement in missions and ministries in local communities, throughout the state, and globally.

First Baptist Church is affiliated with both the Southern Baptist Convention and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. This dual alignment has served this church well for the past couple of decades.   FBC has been affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention since the church was established in 1859, about 14 years after the Southern Baptist Convention was formed.  We have been affiliated with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship since September 1993, about two years after the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship was formed.
